Reformer Sessions (Private and Group Classes Offered)
The Reformer is a highly specialized piece of equipment that features a bed-like platform which slides along tracks with a spring system for resistance. Designed to “reform” the body inside and out through a wide range of corrective exercises, the Reformer is excellent for rehabilitation and general health. Just 20 Reformer sessions will leave you with a leaner, stronger and more balanced body.
Reformer sessions last one hour and are taught one-on-one or in groups with a maximum of five persons per instructor. Our intimate private and group sessions allow us to tailor exercise programs specifically to the needs of the client, and exercises can be added or deleted according to his or her fitness goals.
Equipment used in these sessions can include:
- Barrel and Ladder Barrel: Particularly useful for back problems, the Barrel and Ladder Barrel is a specialized apparatus that provides pelvic stability for numerous spine and abdominal movements.
- Chair and Split Pedal Chair: The Chair and the Split Pedal Chair is used in Pilates for developing upper body strength, stabilizing the torso and performing a number of lower body and feet strengthening exercises.
- Cadillac: Similar to a trapeze, the Cadillac allows the safe performance of spiraling and circular movements, used in Pilates to restore flexibility and strength in the back, as well as lengthen the spine.
Mat Sessions (Private And Group Classes Offered)
Perfect for people of all fitness levels, mat sessions feature 34 distinct exercises from the Body Balance Method which are highly effective in improving body strength, flexibility and endurance, while also developing muscular balance and core stability. Clients also learn correct breathing and posture techniques and effective tension relief.
Group Mat sessions are kept small in size with a maximum of six clients per instructor. This allows the instructor to work closely with each client to ensure his or her fitness goals are being met. One hour group mat sessions are also available with an additional 1/2 hour of cardio work.
